LEGO 2018 / Technic Sets

In 2018 LEGO released 14 Technic sets. The largest Technic set from 2018 was 42082 Rough Terrain Crane with a piece count of 4057 and a retail price of $299.99. The current estimated value of all these Technic sets from this year is about $1,898.76 which represents a 122.1% growth.

TECHNIC is one of The LEGO Company's main lines based on creating detailed model machines and mechanical toys with specialized beams, axles, gears and connectors and primarily designed for older children and adults. The theme was first introduced as the Expert Builder series in 1977, but was officially renamed as TECHNIC in 1984. TECHNIC is still an active theme, and is one of the longest running themes in LEGO history. While most TECHNIC sets are vehicles that use pieces to mimic real vehicles, such as engine pieces, suspension, pneumatic, and transmission pieces, the TECHNIC parts have been used by various other System themes as well as LEGO Mindstorms.

2018 LEGO Sets

In 2018, The LEGO Company celebrated the 60th anniversary of the brick and introduced a number of sets to commemorate this. This year also so a number of new and revisited themes including the return of Harry Potter sets after 6 years. New themes such as Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, The Powerpuff Girls, Unikitty! and Solo: A Star Wars Story was added to LEGO Star Wars. We also so the discontinuation of LEGO Dimensions and Nexo Knights.
