LEGO 1200-2 Town Plan Board Small Plastic was a System i Leg set released in 1956. This set was sold in Northern Europe. This (1950’s style) Town Plan board was produced in a stiff Masonite fiberboard. There were 7 town blocks on the board, and the gas station block was facing west. The board was similar to the cardboard version but was soft plastic, almost like a mat.
Town Plan Board Small Plastic is an extremely old and very rare LEGO set. We have not seen set 1200-2 currently for sale online or in the hundreds of retail stores in good/new condition in over 2,547 days. Because of the rarity of this hard to find set the current estimated value of $283.59 might actually be much lower than the true value, assuming this set can be found for sale.Because Town Plan Board Small Plastic is a very old set from 1956, finding it in a sealed and good condition might be difficult thus making the true value even that much higher.

“This older, non-folding version of the baseboard has the "old" version of the layout, appears to be stenciled, and has an almost home-made feel to it. Street blocks are not rigidly aligned, street blocks are by default "grassed" in patterned green, and – horrors! – a zebra... More crossing actually crosses a road at a slight angle!”

About System i Leg Town Plan

LEGO Town Plan was a theme introduced in 1958 and lasted until 1966 and was under the System i Leg (System of Play) theme. The theme was unveiled at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in February 1955. LEGO Town Plan originally consisted of the existing 700 series LEGO Mursten sets, several new HO 1:87 scale accessories, and a vinyl play mat. However, over the next several years the system was expanded with both new building sets.

Town Plan consists of 30 sets that ran from 1955 to 1959. As of today, 1308 Fire Station is the most valuable Town Plan set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $5,493.
