The LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides subtheme belongs to the LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean theme and is based on the "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" film, released in 2011. The film centers around Captain Jack Sparrow's quest for the Fountain of Youth and his encounters with the infamous pirate Blackbeard. The LEGO sets in the theme capture characters, ships, and scenes from this movie.

2011 introduced Ninjago, which quickly became one of LEGO’s most successful original themes and the foundation of a long-running multimedia franchise.
