“While the annual growth has been slightly declining over the last year, we still believe that Fountain is a good set to invest in if you collect Creator sets. Over the last several years, Fountain has averaged an annual growth of just around 9% and is expected to decline no more than one or two percent in the next couple of years, while Creator sets have an average annual return of around 5%.”

“The main centerpiece of this set is obviously the fountain itself. It’s a small circular structure that actually has a lot of detail packed into it. There are some pearl-gold frogs surrounding the base and are facing the statue. Inside the base are four trans-light blue... More Chima CHI crystals with some bulbs to portray water coming out of spouts. In the middle is the aforementioned statue standing on top of a Roman-style column.”

“Overall, it's a great free set. Having planned to purchase items anyways, it's always great to get more LEGO sets at no additional charge. Would I buy this one on the secondary market? No thanks! There isn't really anything that makes this set stand out as one worth... More investing in. I'd recommend making up your own fountain MOC instead.”

About Creator

The LEGO Creator theme consists of a variety of subthemes that revolve around sets that focus on buildings, creatures, vehicles, robots and recently more specialized sets such as botanical and even the Chinese New Year. Many of these sets have fallen under the 3-in-1 label which include instructions in a single set to provide multiple alternative models. Originally created in 2001 with a focus on larger bucket sets, the LEGO Creator theme has expanded outside just bricks to later include minifigures.

Creator Fountain set 40221 was released in June 2016, retailing for $10, but has since been retired. New, unopened Fountain sets are valued at $22, while used sets can be found for $18 in good condition.
