726 Western Train was a 291 piece 12V Trains set released in 1976 that included three LEGOLAND Minifigures and a circle of track. The set was also called "Wild West Express". It features a classic 19th-century locomotive with a smokestack, water boiler, moveable drive shafts, two carriages, three cowboy figures, and a LEGO brick-built black horse. This model is thought to have inspired the Western locomotives that later appeared in LEGOLAND Park. The train model came pre-assembled and included a circular track.
Western Train is an extremely old and very rare LEGO set. We have not seen set 726-1 currently for sale online or in the hundreds of retail stores in good/new condition in over 1,608 days. Because of the rarity of this hard to find set the current estimated value of $1,709.02 might actually be much lower than the true value, assuming this set can be found for sale.Because Western Train is a very old set from 1976, finding it in a sealed and good condition might be difficult thus making the true value even that much higher.

About Trains 4.5V / 12V

In 1972 LEGO released the 4.5V and 12V train sets as part of the Blue Era which was named because of the rail color. These train sets used additional conductor rails mounted between the standard 4.5V rails and 12V motors contained in the same housings as the 4.5V motors, but with additional metal contacts attached to the bottom of the housings.

4.5V / 12V consists of 83 sets that ran from 1972 to 1986. As of today, 7750 Steam Engine with Tender is the most valuable 4.5V / 12V set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $6,699.
