LEGO 2015 / Bionicle Sets

In 2015 LEGO released 22 Bionicle sets across 6 subthemes. The largest Bionicle set from 2015 was 70795 Mask Maker vs. Skull Grinder with a piece count of 171 and a retail price of $29.99. The current estimated value of all these Bionicle sets from this year is about $5,492.67 which represents a 1998.7% growth.

The BIONICLE theme is series of sets based on modified TECHNIC pieces and ball-and-socket joints to create larger figures. Bionicles coincided with a series of comic books and graphic novels released during the set's run from 2001 to 2016. The theme was introduced in 2001 and originally discontinued in 2010, being succeeded by Hero Factory but additional sets were also released up until 2016 after it's break in 2010 to 2014. BIONICLE sets were tied together by an elaborate original storyline within the comic books and other multimedia that centered around bio-mechanical characters which are generally large, powerful beings that usually serve for good. The name BIONICLE is short for BIOlogical ChroNICLE.

2015 LEGO Sets

In 2105 LEGO celebrated its 60th anniversary. This was the year if many reintroductions in addition to a number of new themes being released. In 2015 LEGO released Dimensions, Elves, Jurassic World and one of our collector's favorites, Scooby-Doo. LEGO also reintroduced sets for BIONICLE and Pirates. Also that year, LEGO City celebrated its ten-year anniversary and Star Wars released sets for Episode VII The Force Awakens. However, LEGO did retire two licensed themes Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and The Hobbit.
