The specialized pieces, like the black sloped windshield parts and the dynamic crash mechanism where parts fly off upon... More impact, added unique touches. The LEGO Power Racers subtheme of LEGO Racers was introduced in 2005 and focused on TECHNIC and System vehicles with various functions such as pull-back motors, falling apart on impact, or slammers which propelled it forward. Power Racers was discontinued in 2010 and consisted of 35 sets in total.
