81000 Koi was a FORMA set released in 2019. The set contains 294 pieces, which are used to build a model of a Koi fish. Most of the pieces used are TECHNIC pieces, which build a round base at the bottom with a TECHNIC stand used to hold the main koi build. The set was included in the launch of FORMA on Indiegogo. Around 1000 sets were sold in the first wave.

The current value for a new and sealed Koi is estimated around $227 today with current average yearly gain of about 13% but will level off in the next year closer to a 10% annual growth making it a solid investment. “It's a fun set to build, which is much more fun to play with once built. It may just be a simple turn and move system, but you'll find yourself picking up the set every few minutes to give it a turn and watch the fish swim. It's difficult to know if this could be a concept... More to get non-LEGO building adults building.”

LEGO FORMA was a theme first released on the crowdfunding site Indiegogo but run by the LEGO Group. FORMA is a fish-inspired line geared toward overwhelmed grown-ups based on Technics parts. There is the base set, which includes the LEGO FORMA kit and Koi carp skin. There are different foil skins which can be added to the base set, these include a shark, splash Koi and ink Koi.
