LEGO 659-2 was a1:87 VW Pickup packaged in a paper cardboard presentation box that ran from 1964 until 1967/68 in various markets. While 659-2 was only available in Continental Europe excluding the UK, it was the same as set 259-1 which was available in other regions. The VW pickup ran a number of promotions such as the "MURYAR BISHARA" version red and white and today retails for over $1200 USD.

It is important to note that different variations or brandings have very different values.

1:87 VW Pickup is an extremely old and very rare LEGO set. We have not seen set 659-2 currently for sale online or in the hundreds of retail stores in good/new condition in over 1,188 days. Because of the rarity of this hard to find set the current estimated value of $207.07 might actually be much lower than the true value, assuming this set can be found for sale.Because 1:87 VW Pickup is a very old set from 1964, finding it in a sealed and good condition might be difficult thus making the true value even that much higher.

About Classic HO 1:87 Vehicles

The LEGO HO 1:87 Vehicles subtheme, also referred to as LEGO small vehicles where plastic sets released in the 1950's and 1960's to compliment LEGO sets which could be used to build houses, gas stations, garages, shops and more. These vehicles sets remailed in production for almost ten years until they were replaced by LEGOLAND vehicles in the early 1970s. LEGO made the these small 1:87 scale vehicles until around 1969.

HO 1:87 Vehicles consists of 37 sets that ran from 1961 to 1966. As of today, 649-2 1:87 Mercedes Shell Tanker is the most valuable HO 1:87 Vehicles set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $2,849.
